Nice original example of a Civil War Quinine Tin.
Japanned tin 1.5” x 1.5” x 3.5" with pewter spout and cork on top and remnants of original paper label pasted to side. Although only small portions of this label remain, it originally read, "PILULAE / QUINIAE / SULPHATIS, / Each containing three grains of Sulphate of Quinia / Prepared at the / U.S.A. Medical Surveying Depot / Astoria L.I.".
In overall good condition with chipped label and strong japanned finish. Accompanied by its original cork with paper seal. An essential for any medical collection. [jet][ph:L]
