Waist up cdv image of Thompson B. Waddell in civilian clothes.

Plain mount with corners trimmed. No photographer’s backmark. Written in period ink on back is, “Tom Waddell / Private Secy / to Farragut.”

Thompson Waddell was appointed “Clerk to Captain of the Fllet of the West Gulf Blockading Squadron” on January 17, 1862. He was assigned to the “Hartford” until he resigned due to bad health in June of 1862. He died in 1885.  [jet][PH:L]
