Harvey W. Wyman was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts on 5 October 1810 and died on July 11, 1879. His son, Horace H. Wyman served as a private in Company B, 15th Massachusetts Infantry from July 12, 1861 until is discharge for disability on February 10, 1862.
When Harvy died an account of his funeral was listed in the Fitchburg Sentinel and read as follows:
“The funeral of the late Harvey Wyman was held at the house Tuesday afternoon. At 2 o'clock the body was taken in charge by Artisan Lodge F. & A. M., and escorted to Riverside cemetery, where the impressive ceremonies of the order were conducted by A. S. Lamb, W. M., assisted by the chaplain, Rev. C. H. Hanaford, and a large delegation of brethren. Mr. Wyman was 68 years of age, was made a Mason of Aurora Lodge, Fitchburg, and upon the starting of Artisan Lodge became one of its charter members, and was always ready to speak a good word for the order when occasion required. He was respected by all the brethren, and was a few years before his death made an honorary member. Mr. Wyman was also an honored member of the Congregational church in Winchendon. He was a hard-working business man, and was a member of the firm Goodspeed & Wyman, manufacturers of machinery. In his death the town has lost an exemplary citizen, and lodge and church a true brother.” [AD][ph:L]
