Original bayonet for use on the 8mm Mauser vz-24 rifle. This bayonet was also used with the vz-23 rifle.
These were used by the Czechoslovakian Army and also exported extensively both prior to and following the Second World War. Modified VZ–24 bayonets were used extensively by Germany during the Second World War.
This bayonet is approximately 17.5” overall; the blade is 11.75" long. The blade is in very good condition with the cutting edge inverted (on the top edge); the tip is intact. The blade has been sharpened. Original wood grips are good. The release button operates as it should.
Ricasso is stamped with "CSZ / T" on one side and "E[lion]26" on the other. Cross guard is attached with two rivets. Stamped with a "Z" within a circle on one side. The cross guard and other exposed metal surfaces show surface rust.
The bayonet comes with original steel scabbard. Exterior surfaces retain much original blue with scattered light rust spots. The frog stud is stamped "E[lion]24" and "CSZ". [jet] [ph:L]
