Artifact is a flattened piece of lead recovered from an unknown portion of the battlefield at Gettysburg.  Specimen is 2¼” long, approximately ¼” wide and has a small hatchet-style point or tip at one end. No edge erosion, this lead pencil has a light beige oxidation overall. Fine dug condition.
