This desk set by John Goode of Gettysburg made from relics features a glass inkwell. It features such relics as two pieces of a bayonet (one vertical on top, a second affixed to the front of the base), a canister ball, an artillery shell fragment, an eagle button, a South Carolina button, a Confederate Minie ball, an Enfield bullet, a fired bullet, and a round musket ball. It measures six inches long, three and a half inches wide. The base measures a little over an inch tall but the piece measures three inches tall with the bayonet piece.
This item was carved by John Good who was a local Gettysburg furniture maker. His shop was located in Race Horse Alley in town. He is well known for making many of the highly desirable Gettysburg relic desk sets.
