48 page booklet entitled, GETTYSBURG. A COMPLETE HISTORICAL NARRATIVE OF THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG, AND THE CAMPAIGN PRECEDING IT. Written by John J. Garnett, Colonel of Artillery, C.S.A. Published for his patrons by J. M. Hill, Manager of the Cyclorama of the Battle of Gettysburg. New York, 1888. Garnett’s preface reads in part, “The account of the Battle of Gettysburg, as set forth in these pages, is so far as human knowledge can determine, absolutely correct….The writer….He takes especial pride in saying that his mind was, in writing this little history, entirely divested of any sectional feeling….”
Red paper covers have faded and yellowed with age; both front and back covers has one small area of paper loss each. Entire booklet has a vertical crease, but does not greatly detract nor affect the text.
