This interesting early photograph features a group of tourists in what appears to be an early model Chevrolet. Five men sit in the automobile as one poses while standing. Another man standing in the background is noted, along with several articles of clothing resting on rudimentary tripods. Though no photographer is credited, a photo negative catalogue notation reads “8890” and is very similar in style to those seen among William Tipton negatives.
The photo is mounted to a dark gray card which shows corner wear to include some loss at bottom left and upper right and light rolling at the remaining corners. The photo itself is in excellent condition. The reverse of the card is blank, save for older pencil writing which reads, “JR 05/25.00”. Overall measurements are 8” x 10”.
A very interesting item for the collector of Gettysburg memorabilia. [cm][ph:L]
