Offered here is a nice “dug” Federal cavalry cuff button. Face features the typical spread-winged eagle with the letter “C” (for cavalry) in the shield.
In very good relic condition with plenty of gilt remaining to highlight the eagle. Straight shank remains on back with “D. EVANS & CO. SUPERFINE” backmark.
Recovered from the 2nd Corps camp in Taneytown, MD; part of the Gettysburg Campaign. [jet][ph:L]
