Offered here is a nice “dug” Federal artillery cuff button. Face features the typical spread-winged eagle with the letter “A” (for artillery) in the shield.
In very good relic condition with plenty of gilt remaining, mostly on and around the eagle. Straight shank remains on back with “EXTRA QUALITY” backmark.
Recovered from the 2nd Corps camp in Taneytown, MD; part of the Gettysburg Campaign. [jet][ph:L]
