Signed and Numbered Limited Edition Monument Replica stands 12” tall; the base is 6” x 4”. Made of resin material. Signed and numbered by the artist, #7 of 1863. Top of the base is painted a light green to simulate grass.

The monument was dedicated in 1889 and stands on Reynolds Ave. on the first day’s battlefield.

The 142nd Pennsylvania arrived on the field with the 1st Corps on July 1, 1863 and was eventually outflanked by the advancing Confederate troops and forced to fall back to Seminary Ridge and then to Cemetery Hill.  Its colonel, Robert P. Cummins, was mortally wounded here on July 1 and died the next day.  Lieutenant Colonel Alfred B. McCalmont took command when Cummins fell.

July 1 a.m. Marched from Emmitsburg reaching the field via Willoughby Run. Formed line facing northward. Occupied this position. Charged to support artillery. Reformed here and engaged a Brigade composed of the 11, 26 , 47, and 52 N.C. Infantry. In the afternoon outflanked and retired firing to a position near the Seminary. Here engaged a Brigade composed of the 1, 12, 13, and 14 S.C. Infantry. After a gallant fight again outflanked & retired to Cemetery Hill.
July 2. In position at Cemetery Hill.
July 3. Moved half a mile to the left and exposed to the artillery fire of the enemy.
