Excellent, clean condition image of the 145th New York Monument. Somewhat light in contrast. Visible at left is a wooden sign attached to a tree. A small typewritten paper included with the image indicates that the sign reads: “149 N.Y. Vols 3rd Brig. 2 Div. 12 A.C. Built these works on 2nd of July 1863 and defended them on the night of the 2nd & 3rd of July 1863.” Photographer’s mark along lower edge of mat: “W. H. Tipton , Gettysburg, Pa.” Reverse is blank.
