Nicely done replica of the Mary Thompson house in Gettysburg. Thompson was an elderly widow who co-owned her small house west of Gettysburg on the Chambersburg Pike with Republican Congressman Thaddeus Stevens. It was used by Confederate General Robert E. Lee as his headquarters during the Battle of Gettysburg; it was recently restored to its wartime appearance by the American Battlefield Trust.
The model stands 3 ¼” high; its base measures 4 ½” x 6”. A label on the bottom reads, “FOUR WINDS STUDIO / MADE IN GETTYSBURG” with a phone# and web site address. Once operated by Gary Casteel and now defunct; he currently owns Casteel Sculptures on Baltimore St. in Gettysburg. [ld] [ph:L]
