Offered here is a Gettysburg veteran’s souvenir from a return visit to the battlefield.
Here is a 3.75” long fragment from a Schenkl artillery shell. This is a piece from the ribbed lower portion of the shell. Pasted to the rusty iron relic is an old label. This label, with red border, has “Shell From Gettysburg” written in old pen & ink on it.
Tag shows some rust stains bleeding through, otherwise still very readable. [jet][ph:L]
