These were given out by the government to each veteran attending the reunion. The plate center has a decoupaged cut out of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address Memorial (ded. Jan 24, 1912) surrounded by a hand painted scene.
This 1913 plate was owned by Sgt Henry Orville Clark born in Milton, VT who fought at Gettysburg with Stannard’s Vermont Brigade, 13th Vermont Infantry. The back of the plate has a section of Henry O. Clark’s letterhead attached with a typed message that reads: “Souvenir/50th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg/July 1-5-1913/Plate Furnished by U.S. Gov’t,/for use of Comrades/Painted in oil by/? ? Moncoux,/East Rutherford, N.J.”
