Image is mounted on a plain unmarked yellow card and is an early view of the Katalysine Springs Hotel before the front porches were added in 1872.

The hotel was located west of Willoughby’s Run on land that now belongs to the defunct Gettysburg Country Club and was operated from 1869 to 1917. The view is looking west.

Contrast and clarity are very good as is the paper and mount.

Reverse has a list of titles for other images. Card was published by the Oriental Photograph Company which was located in Spangler’s building on Baltimore St. in Gettysburg.  [ad] [PH:L]
