This two-piece medal consists of a top bar and drop.
The top bar is embossed with a soldier and a veteran shaking hands at the center of a laurel wreath. Beneath the two figures is a scroll bearing the inscription “NEW YORK-GETTYSBURG.” Flanking the figures are the dates “1863-1913.” The reverse retains the original pin.
The drop is formed in the shape of a cross with profile busts of Meade and Lee on a disc at center. The disc is flanked on each side by US shields superimposed over crossed swords. The top of the drop has crossed rifles while the bottom has crossed cannons.
Surface is very clean. [ad] [ph:L]
