Gray colored mount with caption that reads “FROM SEMINARY RIDGE S.E. TO PENN. COLLEGE, GETTYSBURG, PENN. -USED AS A HOSPITAL DURING THE BATTLE.”

In the foreground are three men viewing the monument of the 104th New York which stands behind the line of monuments to Baxter’s Brigade on Oak Ridge near the Mummasburg Road. In the background to the left, just behind a tree, is the monument to the 13th Massachusetts. Both regiments were from Paul’s Brigade and formed a refused flank for the 1st Corps during the fighting on July 1st.

In the distant middle background is the town of Gettysburg with the Pennsylvania College (now Gettysburg College) buildings the most prominent. In the left background are the fields over which the 11th Corps fought as their line stretched off toward the Biglerville Road.
