Measuring just under 2.5 inches tall, this small porcelain souvenir cup bears the Jennie Wade house, a drawing of a bust view of Miss Wade as well as her headstone at Evergreen Cemetery. The handle is dainty; this cup is certainly not made for use! It has been painted gold along with the rim. On the bottom of the cup, a maker’s mark is present. It reads: “Wheelock / Made in Germany for / GEO. W. CHRITZMAN / Gettysburg, PA.”
The bottom edge of the cup has some minor chips to the porcelain but these do not detract from the piece in any way. It appears that the porcelain was molded to affect a scallop type edge and some minor wear shows at those edges. There are no other issues to note. [cla] [ph:L]
