This 6-pound solid shot was recovered by then Gettysburg resident Al Flickinger in the famous Peach Orchard – the rarest type of projectile used here!
The shot has been cleaned and is in very nice condition. It has a visible crude mold seam. The surface is mostly smooth with just the lightest pitting.
It is believed that this shot was fired by Latham’s North Carolina Artillery who had the only 6-pound gun on the field and Devil’s Den was definitely in this gun’s field of fire.
