Aqua glass soda bottle shows a blob top. Embossing reads, “JOHN KIMPLE BOTTLER, GETTYSBURG, PA / REGISTERED, THIS BOTTLE NEVER SOLD”. The Hutchinson stopper remains inside of bottle.

Charles G. Hutchinson invented and patented the Hutchinson Patent Stopper in 1879 as a replacement for cork bottle stoppers which were commonly being used as stoppers on soda water or pop bottles. His invention employed a wire spring attached to a rubber seal. Production of these stoppers was discontinued after 1912.

Bottle measures 6 ¼” tall by 2 ¼” in circumference at the base. One small shallow chip above and to the left of the embossed lettering; lip of the bottle is rough to the touch.  [sl]
