This is a pin-back medal made as a souvenir for the 50^th anniversary, in 1913, of the Battle of Gettysburg. A pin-back metal bar in the form of a ribbon has “SOUVENIR” on the front. Suspended by two links is a 1 3/8” round medal.  The front reads, “19   50^th ANNIVERSARY  13   BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG” around the edge.  In the center are busts of Generals Meade and Lee facing each other. Under them is a pair of hands clasped in a hardy shake to represent reconciliation. The back of the round medallion has a beautiful eagle clutching a shield and three draped flags. Medal is clean and bright, with gold finish overall.  [jet]
