Gold plated pocket watch made by Elgin National Watch Company in 1905. Inner works are serial numbered 11269814. Bright, white face with large roman numerals (marking hours) and smaller Arabic numbers (marking minutes). Separate dial for seconds. Exceptionally fine, hand painted personalization on face in blue and red paint. At top is an American flag, under which what appears to be “U. Y. Lo 61 – 65”. The next two lines read “William Scott / Gettysburg, PA.”
Stem is good, hands move, but watch does not run. Front cover is present but has broken at the hinge and is separate. Overall, the watch is exceptionally clean and bright. [jet]
