Wooden boards are laced together and open to reveal sturdy paper cards with images from Gettysburg.  Images are in color and feature artist’s drawings of the Eternal Peace Light, Pennsylvania State Memorial, Alabama Memorial, General Lee on Traveller, Jennie Wade House, New York State Monument, General Lee’s and General Meade’s Headquarters, Little Round Top, High Water Mark Monument, Soldier’s National Cemetery, Lincoln Speech Memorial, Hancock Avenue, Devil’s Den, Spangler’s Spring, statues of Generals Meade, Buford & Reynolds, the Virginia Memorial, Soldier’s National Monument, and the North Carolina Monument. Each card has a description of the image on the reverse.

Book measures 3” x 4”. Front cover has images of General Lee and a cannon, and is stamped with, “SOUVENIR GETTYSBURG, P.A., JULY 1, 2, 3, 1863”. Inside of front cover is stamped with maker’s mark, “MADE IN GETTYSBURG BY GEO. W. BUOHL”.

This is a nice, vintage Gettysburg collectible.     [SM]
