Black and white image mounted on black heavy stock. Mount meas. approx. 10.00 x 12.00 inches and is in good condition with only minor wear to corners.
Image meas. approx. 9.25 x 7.00 inches and shows a group of three young couples posed in Devil’s Den. Four of the group are seated on a large rock off to one side of the Den proper while one couple sits on the roots of an old tree nearby.
The immediate background is taken up by large boulders but looks in the direction of Warfield Ridge from which the Confederates launched their attack on July 2, 1863.
Reverse has a faint stamp that reads “MUMPER / PHOTOGRAPHER / 7 STRATTON ST. / GETTYSBURG, PA.”
