This original map is one of three done for July 1st, 2nd and 3rd for the Battle of Gettysburg. The survey was ordered by Brevet Major General A.A. Humphreys, Chief of Engineers, and conducted under Brevet Major General G.K. Warren, Major of Engineers. Often referred to as the Bachelder or Warren maps, published in 1876.
A very detailed analysis of the deployment of various units of the Union and Confederate Armies, with the commanding officers, period of time, position and other detailed information is given. Detailed topographic map with elevations, contours, roads, railroads, streams, houses with names of residents, and a detailed section of the town. Very colorful map in about mint condition. Map measures approx. 27” x 35”. Recently matted and framed with plexiglass. Overall measures 33 ½” x 42”.
Getting hard to find, an outstanding addition for the Gettysburg historian.
EXTRA SHIPPING REQUIRED. We would need to special order a large box in order to ship; charge would be a minimum of $150.00 depending upon location of shipment. If possible it would be preferable to pick up this item in our shop, or transport it to one of the militaria shows that we attend.
