This cane is made of one piece of wood and meas. approx. 35.25 inches high.
The top 5.50 inches still retain the original bark with a handle that resembles a duck head in shape. This handle has become polished and smooth from constant handling.
The rest of the canes surface has been sanded smooth and a linear and dot decoration burned into the wood. The decoration follows a pattern of wavy lines topped by concentric rings and dots. Just below the handle area is a black ink stamp that reads “GETTYSBURG / JULY 1 2 3, 1863 / WOOD FROM ROUND TOP.”
The overall condition of the cane is very good. It is mostly clean and free of major dings or nicks. The very bottom of the cane shows some light wear from use and age.
