The view was taken on Culp’s Hill near the present day location of the 2^nd Maryland CSA monument and shows the remains of burial pits in that area

The view is number 580 and is captioned “TRENCHES CONTAINING CONFEDERATE DEAD, CULP’S HILL.”

The contrast of the image is good and the mount is mostly clean with only light surface dirt from age and storage.

Reverse has a printed advertisement for Tipton stereo views. Edge of reverse has some light insect damage.
