Image shows the monument to the 155th Pennsylvania Infantry erected on the west side of Little Round Top in 1886. Visible beyond the monument is the “Valley of Death” and the Wheatfield Road.
Paper image and mount are mostly clean. Rose colored mount has copyright information along the right edge. The bottom of the mount is marked “5259 THE VALLEY OF DEATH, AND WHEATFIELD, FROM LITTLE ROUND TOP, GETTYSBURG.” Image contrast is light.
Reverse has a clear black ink stamp that reads “PHOTOGRAPHED AND PUBLISHED BY KILBURN BROTHERS…LITTLETON, N.H.” There is also an old inscription on the back with a previous owners name and dated 1890.
