This guide book dates from 1887 and is titled “A GUIDE OF THE BATTLE-FIELD OF GETTYSBURG. WITH ILLUSTRATIONS AND MAP” by Jacob Hoke who was also the author of the well-known Gettysburg book “THE GREAT INVASION.”
This book has green paper covers that show some light wear and chipping at the edges. The front cover is lightly creased down the center. The spine was reinforced long ago with a strip of tape that is holding well despite its age. The back cover is torn but there is no missing material. Bottom corners of front and back covers are chipped.
The 24 page interior of the book is very clean and readable. Inside the back cover is the original fold out map in excellent condition.
