Stereo is on a yellow mount with “ARTISTIC STEREO GEMS OF GETTYSBURG SCENERY” on one edge and “PHOTOGRAPHED BY W. H. TIPTON GETTYSBURG, PA.” on the other.
The image itself was taken from in front of Little Round Top in the “Valley of Death” and is looking southeast. In the foreground is the large white marker showing the spot where Colonel Charles Frederick Taylor of the 42nd Pennsylvania fell. Passing through the middle distance is Crawford Ave with the ground on the left side of the road beginning to rise toward Little Round Top while the background is taken up with the wooded slope of Big Round Top.
Image is numbered 839 and the caption reads “ROUND TOP FROM WHERE COL. FRED. TAYLOR FELL.” The image is clear and clean though the right half is a little light in contrast. Reverse has Tipton’s logo and advertisement.
