Top bar is made of stamped brass with a bust of George Washington at center flanked on each side by three five-pointed stars. Reverse still has the pin. Suspended from this top bar is a short red, white and blue ribbon with gold lettering that reads “PENNSYLVANIA MONUMENTS GETTYSBURG SEPT. 11-12, 1889.” Hanging from the ribbon is a white medal disc with the monument in the Soldiers National Cemetery at center and an inscription that reads “IN MEMORY OF OUR NOBLE DEAD” on the obverse. The reverse shows a Union line of battle with flags flying and the inscription “IN REVIEW.” The ribbon comes mounted on a blue card with a typed description of what the medal is for.
The item is in good condition with the colors and printing still strong. The disc at bottom has some light age frosting but nothing that detracts.
