Item Code: 698-27

A straight-pull, bolt action, box magazine repeater, the Mannlicher was designed by Ferdinand Ritter Von Mannlicher and was the first magazine rifle adopted by Austrian Infantry.  The first straight-pull military rifle adopted for regular infantry, a very large box magazine that drops down below the receiver, ahead of and separate from the trigger guard distinguishes it. It chambers the 11mm Werndl cartridge (now also known as the 11mm Mannlicher). The stock is inletted for a finger grip below the rear sight. It has no rod but the nosecap is fitted with a short stacking rod.

While most of these where converted to the 8x50R smokeless powder cartridge, this is still chambered for the 11.15x58R black powder cartridge. Serial number, 574II is stamped on the barrel which means that letters following the serial number denotes for import. Wood is good and has been lightly sanded on the butt area, which may have been done to remove a Chilean cartouche. Mechanics are sound and the bore is excellent.
