The Model 1870/87 rifle is a bolt action 10.35x47 mm centerfire cartridge. It has a 34-inch barrel with the rear portion hexagon. The rifle was produced at Brescia or Torino arsenals under the license from the Swiss firm Vetterli. It has a four round magazine. Stamped on the barrel is the manufacture and the date. It has a full length stock with no handguard.

This is a model 1870/87 rifle manufactured by Brescia and dated 1884. During WW1 most of the Model 1870/87 rifles were converted to the 6.5x52 mm, the Italian service ammunition. Good wood.
