Full, dark, walnut stock in good condition with light signs of age and wear. No inspector’s cartouche is visible. All metal surfaces are “gun-metal” gray. Barrel is 32 inches long with longleaf rear sight. Receiver ring is stamped with “U.S.N.” anchor and “No. 2414” with inspectors initials “W. W. K.” Top left edge of receiver is stamped “E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y. U.S.A. SOLE MANUFACTURERS & AGENTS 51307.” Left side of receiver is very lightly marked “PATENTED NOV. 4th 1879.” Action is good and works well. Magazine release also works fine. Magazine is type with two grooves on each side. Cleaning rod, both sling swivels and stacking swivel are present. Bore is bright and clean. Rifling is good.
