Cal. 58 “E. Robinson” muskets were produced in New York. The lock surface is a nice bright patina. Markings “Eagle” with” U.S.” and “E.ROBINSON / NEW YORK” and the date “1863”remain legible. Crisp working lockwork. All other iron surfaces are a mix of patina and gray with spotty peppery look. The barrel markings are visible and is the “VP/ EAGLE”. No date is visible on the barrel. The rear sight is complete, has some original finish and functional. The ramrod is original. Bore has good rifling and just a few areas with minor pitting. The stock is light brown in color and has been lightly sanded. The inspector’s cartouches located on the opposite side of the lockplate are very clear. Robinson delivered 12,000 muskets.
