This is a Model 1819 Hall U.S. breech-loading flintlock rifle that was converted to percussion. Over nineteen thousand Hall’s were manufactured between 1817 and 1840 at Harper’s Ferry Armory. It is a single shot breechloader with a 32 5/8 “ round barrel. All iron mountings have a brown lacquer patina except for the breechblock, which is casehardened. Stock is made from walnut. This is a 2nd production type and is dated 1832. Breech markings are J.H HALL / H.FERRY/U.S./1832. Ramrod is a button head end. Bore is semi-bright with some pitting but good rifling. Some pitting on the barrel and the breechblock. Stock has no cracks and appears to have been lightly sanded.
