This is a Model 1819 Hall U.S. breech-loading flintlock rifle that was converted to percussion. Over nineteen thousand Halls were manufactured between 1817 and 1840 at Harper’s Ferry Armory. It is a single shot breechloader with a 32 5/8" round barrel. All iron mountings have a brown lacquer patina except for the breechblock that is casehardened. Stock is made from walnut. This is a 3rd production type and is dated 1831. Breech markings are J.H HALL / H.FERRY/U.S./1831. Ramrod has a button head end. Bore is bright with very good rifling. Some original finishes on the barrel and the breechblock. Action is operational. Wood is very good with only nicks and scratches from normal use.
