$1,695.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 998-158

Weapon has a .70 barrel that is 34.50 inches long. It is octagon at the breech and round the rest of the way forward. The metal surface of the barrel is bright with light to moderate mottling and light pitting around the nipple and bolster. Iron blade sight is mounted at top of the muzzle and attached to the side is a lug for a sword bayonet. Rear sight has a somewhat high, long base with a notched sight and a flip-up leaf with appture for distance. Left barrel flat bears a Liege maker’s mark. Bore is clean with good rifling and light surface dirt.

Lockplate is flush with the stock and is marked “L. LAMBIN & CTE.” over “LIEGE.” Top of lock marking is lightly worn. Hammer has some light surface rust on head. Action works well but half-cock is a bit shallow. Original nipple is present on the bolster. Lock and hammer wear a mottled patina.

Wood stock is thick and heavy and bears several small marks. There are no cracks and few signs of wear. Surface shows a few small dings and dents from age, storage and use.

Barrel bands, triggerguard and buttplate are iron and have numerous assembly or inspector’s marks. One sling swivel is attached to the lower barrel band while the other is screwed into the stock near the toe.

Proper ramrod is present with a cupped head. Opposite end has no threads.  [ad]
