Made between 1860 and 1868, the serial number range began at about 11672. This particular revolver is serial number 15906 which puts it early in the run. Revolver is .22 caliber. It has a squared walnut grip with a silver plated brass frame and blue cylinder and barrel. Very small amounts of silver plate have worn off. The blue on the barrel and cylinder mostly remains with only the lightest wear on barrel edges and a little heavier wear near the muzzle. Top of barrel is crisply and clearly marked “SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” Lightly marked on the cylinder is “PATENTED APRIL 3, 1855 & JULY 5, 1859.” The action works but does not hold half cock. Bore is clear and clean.
