A single action revolver, this small 6” long pocket revolver was one of a number of inexpensive handguns produced by Colt from 1873 to 1884. The New Line specimen was Colt’s first production model handgun chambered for .32 caliber and outnumbered all other pistols in Colt’s New Line group.  Revolver utilized a rimfire cartridge matched to a five-shot fluted cylinder fitted to a 2¼” long round barrel. Solid iron frame body has a factory nickel-plating with moderate a amount of plating lost overall.  Maker’s address “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG CO / HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.” Left side of barrel is etched with “COLT NEW 32”.  Pistol bears serial # 10181 at the bottom of the buttstrap and the last two digits “81” on the cylinder. A nice set of two-piece varnished rosewood grips adorn the bird’s head butt.  In mechanically strong condition.  Screws not buggered save for the grip screw. In very good overall condition, this Colt-made ‘New Line 32 2nd Model pocket’ revolver displays nicely in any secondary sidearms collection.
