Also known as the “Old Army Model” this revolver was manufactured C. 1862. It is a percussion .44. caliber, six shot revolver. The barrel markings are: PATENTED DEC. 17, 1861 / MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTON”S, ILION, N.Y. The serial number 2816 is located under the barrel. Beals type frame with the concealed barrel threads at the breech. The pistol has no remaining finish and is a dark brown attic patina. The bore is strong and has strong rifling. The mechanics are strong and crisp. Inspector marks are visible on the frame, the trigger guard and on the left grip. Frame is also marked with an A and 53. This is a nice example of an Old Army Model Remington that saw service in the Civil war and the Indian wars.
