Offered here is a Belgian-made percussion pistol. Often called a “boot” or “muff” pistol as this small gun could easily be concealed and carried for personal protection when travelling down dark city streets.
The piece is iron and measures about 6.5” long overall. The 2” long round barrel is .50 caliber. The barrel is still able to be easily unscrewed. A percussion nipple is mounted on the top. The sides of the frame are nicely engraved as is the underside of the retractable trigger. Mechanically fine and when hammer is cocked, the trigger drops down. A small oval Liege proof mark is clearly visible on the left side of frame. The wood grip is checkered on both sides, features additional fine carvings, and has small silver plate inset on top edge.
In very fine condition. [jet][ph:L]
