This a .32 caliber Moore revolver from National Arms Company, Brooklyn New York. This is the “teat fire” revolver, one style of several that were designed to get around the Smith & Wesson rimfire patents.
This has a 3 ¼” round barrel, six shot cylinder, silver plated brass frame, and walnut grips. Heavily engraved on frame, cylinder, and barrel. A slightly worn “National Arms Brooklyn NY” is stamped on the top of the barrel. The patent information is seen stamped around the back edge of the cylinder, although in very small type.
Serial number, 6011 is found on the underside of the barrel and the last two digits “11” are also on the wedge and back end of barrel. Bore is clear with small scattered spots of pitting and with good rifling.
Walnut grips are good. Revolver retains approximately 45% of silver plate over brass frame. All other gun metal is in good smooth condition with dark gray color. Light wear overall. The spent cartridge case extractor is missing. Mechanics are strong and crisp.
This revolver fired the patented “teatfire” copper cartridge. [jet][ph:L]
