This a .32 caliber Moore revolver from National Arms Company, Brooklyn New York. This is the “teat fire” revolver, one style of several that were designed to get around the Smith & Wesson rimfire patents.
This has a 3 ¼” round barrel, six shot cylinder, silver plated brass frame, and walnut grips. Heavily engraved on frame, cylinder, and barrel. A slightly worn “National Arms Brooklyn NY” is stamped on the top of the barrel amid the floral engraving. The patent information is seen stamped around the back edge of the cylinder, although in very small type.
Serial number, 21932 is found on the underside of the barrel and the last two digits “32” are also on the wedge. Bore is clear with only a few small spots of pitting and with good rifling.
Walnut grips are good. Revolver retains approximately 75% of silver plate but is well covered with small patches of pitting and oxidation. The spent cartridge case extractor remains in place, is unbroken, and functions as it should. Mechanics are strong and crisp.
This revolver fired the patented “teatfire” copper cartridge. [jet][ph:L]
