This French AN XIII cavalry pistol is in truly outstanding condition, in fact the best we have seem. In its original flint configuration, it was produced in 1812 at the Armory "Maubeuge Manuf. Imple"; this is clearly engraved on the lock plate. Both barrel and stock are dated 1812. What appears to be the original factory threaded ramrod is in place. Metal surfaces are bright as made and little, or no pitting can be detected. The barrel length is 8 inches, and the overall length is 14 inches. These pistols are rarely seen dated prior to 1812 as thousands were destroyed or captured in Napoleon's Russia adventure in 1812. A classic of the Napoleonic War. [pe] [ph:L]
