The drawn bayonet meas. approx. 11.50 inches long from point to pommel. The parkerized blade itself is approx. 6 9/16 inches long. It has a spearpoint with a true edge that is free of nicks. The last 3.50 inches of the top edge is also sharpened. Blade is unmarked. Surface shows wear to the finish and some rub marks.
At the base of the blade is an elliptical iron guard with a muzzle ring that is marked “USM4” over “CASE.” Grip is made of stippled Bakelite. The metal pommel cap is flat with a slit cut to receive the bayonet lug. The sides of the pommel cup are depressed to release the bayonet from the rifle.
Bayonet comes in the original green hard plastic scabbard with an iron throat marked “US M8” over “B M CO.” Scabbard has a green woven canvas frog with retention straps made of the same material. The straps snap over the grip of the bayonet to hold it in place.
