EXCELLENT REMINGTON DOUBLE DERINGER

$975.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 172-5606

This is a pretty example of the Type II or Model 3 of the Remington Model 95 Double Deringer in Flayderman’s terminology, bearing a single line barrel address: “REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION, N.Y.” The barrels and frame are nickled and the grips are mother of pearl. The plating shows some gray spotting but no ugly flakes of plating loss. The grips are very good, with no chips. The sides of the hammer show some dark spots, but the gun overall is very bright.

This was the most popular model of this very popular .41 caliber over-and-under derringer, about 80,000 being produced from about 1888 to 1911, qualifying it for the closing days of the wild west. but still a time of poker tables in saloons when an easily concealed vest pocket pistol might come in handy during discussion of whether four aces and a king really beats four kings and an ace.  [sr]  [ph:L]
