$1,750.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1000-484

Originally a flintlock pistol manufactured by Simeon North in Connecticut in 1827. North manufactured approximately 3,000 Navy Pistols between 1826 and 1829. This Pistol was converted to percussion as most were. The last US Martial Pistol manufactured by North.

The Navy Pistol is iron mounted with a black walnut stock. The barrel .54 caliber is stamped on side by the percussion nipple letters “A.H.” over letter “P”. Single brass blade front sight, with an iron swivel ramrod. Light gray patina, with minor pitting around nipple. The lock with brass conversion plug. Lockplate dated “1827” behind the hammer, marked forward “U.S./S. North” in two-lines. Lockplate and hammer matching light gray patina. Government inspector cartouche with letter “ET” visible above the belt hook. Walnut stock with just minor scratched, untouched. Mechanically perfect, all parts original. Very good example of a scarce USN North Pistol. [ws]
