These contract Model 1807 flintlock pistols were made by various contractors like Henry Derringer and Joseph Henry.
Pistol has a round 10-inch .54 barrel that is held to the wood stock by two pins. The barrel surface is smooth and dark. Brass blade front sight is mortised in place. Bore is dark.
Lock is raised with a beveled edge. Front is rounded while the back has a slight teat. Lock surface is dark and unmarked. Mainspring is good. Pan is iron. Frizzed works properly. Action works properly. Lock screws show minor wear.
Walnut stock is full length with brass mountings. It is free of cracks but does have several small nicks and gouges. Left side is stamped with inspector’s initials “HM.” Brass trigger guard, buttplate and lock escutcheon all have matching patina.
Wooden ramrod is present and held by two brass pipes.
These Model 1807 contracts are rare weapons. [ad]
